Overview

Trailer Repair & Refinishing

Trailer damage is rarely dramatic and almost always expensive. Dock strikes, side swipes, corner impacts, torn skins, cracked cross members and damaged rear frames accumulate quietly and eventually take a unit out of service or out of compliance.

We repair across trailer types and are equally comfortable with a single unit or a scheduled program that cycles your fleet through over a season.

What this service covers

  • Collision, dock strike and corner impact repair
  • Side skin, roof sheet and panel replacement
  • Cross member, rail and structural crack repair
  • Rear frame, bumper and door assembly repair
  • Landing gear, suspension and hardware replacement
  • Reefer body panel and insulation repair
  • Flat deck, drop deck and trailer decking repair
  • Full refinish, fleet numbering and decal replacement

Damage that is easy to defer and expensive to ignore

A torn side skin lets water into the wall structure. A cracked cross member transfers load to its neighbours until they crack too. A dented rear frame stops the doors sealing, which puts a reefer out of temperature spec and a dry van out of dry.

Each of these is cheap to fix early and costly to fix late. If you are cycling trailers past us for other work anyway, it is worth having them looked over while they are here.

Refinishing a trailer properly

Trailer refinishing is about surface preparation more than paint. A skin that is refinished over contamination or old failing coating will start lifting within a season regardless of what goes on top. We prepare properly — including blasting where the condition calls for it — before any coating is applied.

We reproduce fleet colours, numbering, DOT markings and livery so a repaired unit is indistinguishable from the rest of the fleet.

Heavy Truck & Fleet FAQ

Questions about trailer repair & refinishing

If yours is not here, call the shop — somebody who works on the vehicles will answer it.

Can you handle multiple trailers at once?

Yes. Talk to us about a scheduled program — we can stage units so you are never short of working trailers, and handle the paperwork as one file rather than a stack of separate jobs.

Do you repair reefer bodies?

Yes, including panel and insulation repair. Restoring the thermal envelope correctly is the part that matters — a cosmetically repaired panel with compromised insulation will cost you in fuel and in load compliance.

Can you do the work at our yard?

For some jobs, yes. Talk to us about what needs doing and we will tell you honestly whether it is better done on site or in our shop.
