Direct billing, estimates and supplements
The part of a claim that determines how long your vehicle sits is rarely the repair itself. It is the paperwork loop: estimate submitted, estimate reviewed, work authorised, hidden damage found, supplement submitted, supplement reviewed, work resumed. Every gap in that loop is a day your vehicle is not moving.
Our estimators write in the format adjusters expect, with photographic evidence attached to every line that needs it. That matters because an estimate that has to be rewritten before it can be reviewed costs you two days before anyone has touched the vehicle.
Have this ready
- Your policy number and claim number if the claim is already open
- The date, time and location of the incident
- Photographs of the damage, taken in daylight if possible
- Any police file number, if one was issued
- Your adjuster's name and contact details once assigned
The detail
Direct billing, estimates and supplements
Estimate
Written and submitted with photographs of every damaged area, parts and labour separated line by line so nothing is buried in a subtotal.
Authorisation
We follow up rather than waiting. Nothing is ordered and no work starts until the scope is authorised and you have seen it.
Supplements
When teardown exposes damage the first estimate could not see, we photograph and submit the same day, then chase the approval.
Direct settlement
The insurer's portion is settled directly with us. You pay your deductible on collection and nothing else, unless you have asked for work outside your coverage.
What we do on your claim
You should not be managing your own claim while also getting to work without a car.
Document
Photographs and a written scope of every damaged area before anything is touched.
Submit
An itemised estimate in the format adjusters work in, followed up rather than left in a queue.
Supplement
Hidden damage photographed and submitted the same day it is exposed, then chased to approval.
Hand back
Quality inspection, your full repair file, and a warranty you can hold us to.
Do I have to use a shop from their network?
No. In Alberta the choice of repair facility belongs to the vehicle owner. Insurers may recommend a shop, and there are practical advantages to those arrangements, but you are not obliged to accept the recommendation.
What is a supplement and should I be worried about one?
It is the formal request to add work to an authorised claim after teardown exposes more damage. They are completely normal — hidden damage behind a bumper cover or inside a quarter panel is the rule, not the exception. What causes delay is slow submission, not the supplement itself.
Who do I pay and when?
Your insurer settles their portion directly with us. You pay your deductible when you collect the vehicle.
SAK Auto Group is an independent repair facility. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting as an agent of this insurer, and the names used here are for identification only. Your coverage is governed entirely by your own policy wording — confirm the specifics with your broker or adjuster.
