Overview

Insurance Claims Assistance

A claim is a sequence of documents moving between you, your insurer and the shop, and every gap in that sequence is a day your vehicle sits still. Our estimators write in the format adjusters work in, submit supplements the moment hidden damage is found, and follow up rather than waiting.

You will always know where the claim stands. If an insurer authorises something different from what we recommended, you hear it from us in plain language, with the difference set out clearly, before any decision is made on your behalf.

What this service covers

  • Damage documentation and photo evidence packages
  • Written estimates in insurer-accepted format
  • Direct communication with adjusters and appraisers
  • Supplement preparation and submission for hidden damage
  • Parts sourcing negotiation — OEM, aftermarket and recycled
  • Total-loss assessment support and valuation review
  • Deductible and coverage explained in plain language
  • Complete repair file handed to you at collection

You choose the repair shop

In Alberta the vehicle owner decides where the repair is done. An insurer can recommend a shop from their preferred network, and there are practical advantages to those arrangements, but there is no obligation to accept the recommendation.

What matters is that the shop is willing to write the repair the vehicle actually needs, submit the evidence for it, and stand behind the work afterwards. We are happy to be measured on all three.

What a supplement is, and why it happens

The first estimate is written on visible damage. Once a bumper cover comes off or a quarter panel is opened up, additional damage frequently appears — a crushed absorber, a cracked bracket, a bent reinforcement. The supplement is the formal request to add that work to the authorised claim.

Supplements are normal and expected. What causes delays is slow submission and slow follow-up. We photograph, document and submit the same day the damage is exposed, then chase the authorisation rather than waiting for it to arrive.

If your vehicle is written off

A total loss means the insurer has valued the repair above the vehicle's actual cash value. You are entitled to see how that value was reached, and comparable local listings are a legitimate basis for discussing it if the figure looks low.

We can provide our repair assessment to support that conversation and, where you choose to keep the vehicle as a salvage retention, explain clearly what that means for registration, insurability and future resale in Alberta.

How a insurance claims assistance job runs

Same four stages every time, so you always know which one your vehicle is in and what happens next.

01

Assess

We document the damage and look past what is visible, so the scope is right before anything is ordered.

02

An itemised written estimate — parts, labour and timeline separated — in the format your insurer works in.

03

Repair

Parts ordered on authorisation, work carried out to the manufacturer's published procedure for your vehicle.

04

Return

Quality inspection, clean-up and hand-back with your repair file and warranty documentation.

Collision & Autobody FAQ

Questions about insurance claims assistance

If yours is not here, call the shop — somebody who works on the vehicles will answer it.

Do I need to get three estimates?

Very rarely, these days. Most insurers work from a single estimate written by a shop they can transact with. If yours does ask for more, we will prepare ours in the format they need.

Who do I pay, and when?

Your insurer settles their portion directly with us. You pay your deductible on collection. If any portion of the work is outside your coverage and you have asked us to do it anyway, that is quoted separately and agreed in writing beforehand.

What if the insurer will not approve the repair I want?

We put the difference in writing — what they have authorised, what we recommend, and what the gap costs. You then decide whether to accept their scope or pay the difference. Either way it is your decision, made with the numbers in front of you.
