Overview
Collision Repair
A collision is measured in two ways: what it did to the vehicle, and what it costs you in time. Our job is to take both off your plate. We handle the damage assessment, the insurance paperwork and the repair itself, and we tell you what is happening at every stage rather than leaving you to chase us for an update.
Every repair starts with a full teardown-level assessment, not a walk-around guess. Hidden damage behind a bumper cover or inside a quarter panel is the single biggest cause of blown timelines and supplement delays, so we find it first and get it approved before parts are ordered.
What this service covers
- Structural and non-structural collision repair
- Computerised measuring and pull-to-spec on frame and unibody
- Panel replacement, sectioning and metal finishing
- Factory-matched refinishing and blending
- Suspension, steering and wheel alignment after impact
- Airbag, sensor and ADAS component replacement
- Post-repair scan and calibration
- Full detail and quality inspection before hand-back
How we assess the damage
The first thing we do is establish whether the damage is cosmetic or structural, because that single decision drives everything else — the parts list, the labour hours, the timeline and what your insurer will authorise.
Cosmetic damage sits in the outer skin of the vehicle: bumper covers, fenders, door skins, mouldings and trim. Structural damage reaches into the parts of the vehicle that carry load and manage crash energy — rails, aprons, pillars, rockers and floor pans. Those need to be measured against the manufacturer's dimensions and pulled back to specification, not simply straightened by eye.
Key points
- Digital photo documentation of every damaged area before work begins
- Teardown of affected panels to expose hidden and secondary damage
- Computerised three-dimensional measuring on any impact that reached structure
- Pre-repair diagnostic scan to log every fault code the collision generated
- A written estimate you can read, with parts and labour separated line by line
Parts: OEM, aftermarket and recycled
You have more say in this than most people realise. OEM parts come from the vehicle manufacturer and are the default for structural components, safety systems and anything that affects panel fit on a newer vehicle. Aftermarket parts can be a sensible choice on older vehicles and on non-structural panels where the saving is real and the fit is proven. Recycled OEM parts — genuine parts pulled from another vehicle — often give you factory quality at a lower cost, particularly for doors, hoods and lamps.
Your insurance policy sets out what the insurer will pay for. Where their allowance and your preference differ, we will tell you the difference in writing before we order anything, so you can decide whether to pay the gap. What we will not do is quietly substitute a cheaper part and hope you don't notice.
Refinishing and colour match
Modern automotive finishes are far harder to match than a paint code suggests. The same code can vary between production plants and shifts, and every panel on your vehicle has aged differently under Alberta sun and road salt. We spray test cards and match to the actual panel, then blend into the adjacent panels so the repair disappears instead of announcing itself in daylight.
Refinishing happens in a controlled, filtered downdraft environment with a proper bake cycle. That is what produces a finish that holds gloss and resists stone chips through a Calgary winter, rather than one that looks correct on hand-back and dulls out in six months.
Safety systems and post-repair calibration
Almost every vehicle built in the last decade carries cameras, radar units and sensors that feed lane-keeping, adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking. A replaced windshield, a repaired bumper or a corrected alignment can all move those components out of tolerance.
A vehicle that has been repaired but not recalibrated may look finished and still be unsafe. We run a post-repair scan on every vehicle, clear only the codes that the repair legitimately resolved, and calibrate the systems the repair touched. The scan reports go in your file and you are welcome to a copy.

Collision & Autobody FAQ
Questions about collision repair
If yours is not here, call the shop — somebody who works on the vehicles will answer it.
Will you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We deal directly with all major Canadian insurers, prepare the estimate in the format their adjusters expect, submit supplements when hidden damage is found, and keep the claim moving. You are not required to use the shop your insurer suggests — in Alberta the choice of repair facility is yours.
How long will my vehicle be in the shop?
A bumper cover and refinish is usually two to four days. Multi-panel damage with parts on order runs one to two weeks. Structural repairs depend on parts availability and insurer approvals and can run longer. We give you a target date at the point of authorisation and tell you the moment anything changes it.
Do I have to pay my deductible?
Your deductible is the portion of the claim your policy makes you responsible for and it is payable to the shop on completion. Be cautious of anyone offering to waive or absorb it — that practice is insurance fraud and it puts your claim at risk, not just theirs.
Is the repair guaranteed?
Yes. Our workmanship and refinishing are warranted for as long as you own the vehicle. Parts carry whatever warranty the manufacturer or supplier provides, and we give you the paperwork for both.
